GOING TO THE SUN GALLERY
SHARON SNELL
Sharon Snell
Sharon C. Snell’s passion for creating art started early in life. Sharon is a native resident of the Flathead Valley. She fondly remembers spending time at her grandparents’ dairy farm that they homesteaded west of Kalispell. Her family also spent a lot of time in the summer months visiting Glacier National Park. These memories are what fostered a life-long love of wildlife in Sharon and have always been inspirational in her artwork.
Sharon began painting when she was 14 years old.
Throughout the years, she has focused on creating wildlife, landscapes, and portrait art. Though she is mostly self-trained, she has taken private painting lessons, college workshops, and has networked with many local artists to hone her skills. She enjoys working with many mediums, but oil painting is her specialty.
Sharon has a great imagination and sense of humor. She loves detail and color. Most recently, Sharon has found a new passion painting her series of whimsical wildlife oil miniatures.
Sharon loves to make people laugh, and this series is all about brightening your day. These tiny treasures feature Glacier Jammer Buses and characterizes local wildlife, such as moose and bears, enjoying family activities in beautiful Glacier National Park. Sharon’s hope is to help people remember Glacier National Park and revisit the happy memories they made there each time they look at her Park scenes.
