Phil Evanoff

Phil Evanoff was born in Oregon and moved to the Kalispell area 43 years ago with his family. Although he was a plumber by trade, in 1991 he began carving a duck decoy to begin his own collection. A decade later he started entering Ducks Unlimited carving competitions, encouraged by winning 1st place ribbons. He has since entered several more shows in Washington, Idaho and Wyoming winning many awards.

 

Since his retirement Phil's passion for carving and painting has led him to try to capture the movement and characteristics of many species of birds. He also loves the challenge of making flowers, insects and other elements found in nature. Carving and painting is not a job to Phil, as he finds it a relaxing and fulfilling pastime that he loves as much as the birds he replicates
